Dance Resonance – Artistic Attunement in Motion

This symposium will focus on discussions about concepts of resonance that revolve around questions of a specifically artistic-creative, primarily performative (based on performative movement/dance) affective response, sense of agency, transformation and unavailability.

Annual symposium of the Gesellschaft für Tanzforschung (gtf), in cooperation with the Artistic Research Center (mdw), the Division of Music and Movement Education/Rhythmics of the the Department of Music and Movement Education/Rhythmics and Music Physiology (mdw), and the Institute for Media, Theatre and Popular Culture (University of Hildesheim).

The symposium will take place at Rennweg 8 in the New Concert Hall, the Old Concert Hall, movement rooms C0118 and C0115, seminar rooms AEG10 and meeting room A0128.

Programm

In three keynotes (Gabriele Klein/Hamburg, Andrea Amort/Vienna, Darrel Toulon/Vienna), almost 40 lectures, over 20 lecture performances, around 10 workshops and 8 panel discussions with speakers from various countries in Europe, North and South America, the Middle East and East Asia, multisensory, community-building, historical, ecological, queer and de/postcolonial dimensions of concepts of resonance will be presented, including explicitly critical perspectives.
